Langley WA Harbormaster (Ben Reams) is being fired after 18

Alright, Ben. Last Saturday while visiting a boat on Whidbey I stopped at Langley to poke around. Saw Ben and told him to jump on this site and tell us what's going on. I'm glad he did. Let's support him.

By the way, there at the end of the pier was Miss Mirth's Joe P., trying his luck with his fly rod.

OK, here is what we sent to editor@southwhidbeyrecord.com. We hope everyone who has enjoyed our gatherings at Langley will do the same.

Re: Letter to the Editor:

We are disappointed and angry that Ben Reams, Langley Marina Harbormaster , is being terminated in
April, 2005.

We are members of a C-Dory boating group that makes an annual two night visit to Langley (10 - 15 boats) each
September. A lot of C-Dory folks come back more frequently. We love Langley Marina because, unlike other places, we know that one way or another, Ben will find a way to accommodate us, even if a couple of extra people show up. Plus watching his skillful rearrangement of boats to get every last visitor in is such great entertainment, we talk about it all year long looking forward to returning. Frankly, there are dozens of big marinas with no personality whatsoever, and our group avoids them like the plague - we would hate to see Langley become one of those, which it appears your politicians are hell bent on doing.

We always go up to town to sight-see, shop and eat a group dinner. We spend money in Langley, and Ben
is a large part of why we love to come. Your local Langley businesses will almost certainly feel the negative effects if Ben is terminated!

Sincerely,

Pat and Patty Anderson
Fall City, WA

There are quite a few interesting letters that have been posted. I would suspect that these letters could be of great assistance to Ben.
