I'm looking forward to "masterminding" the system. Les, indicated that it is fairly user friendly, which is important for me. I also was impressed with the feature of the VHF radio that allows you to press the RED distress button and it allows the Coast Guard to know your map coordinates, the make, color and length of your vessel, your name, address and phone number. (As long as the radio is linked to your GPS, which it will be). Additionally, it has the "selective hailing feature, which automatically plots the other vessel's location on your chartplotter, so you know exactly where the "hailing vessel" is.
One thing for sure, my maritime education went up a few notches just spending time with Les yesterday!
