SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

So....got Scallywag back int the water for a little fishing(not catching), made sure my upgrades all worked as planned and just enjoyed some time out on the water! My hard work the past couple of weeks was rewarded with a busted prop! :evil: Sometimes you just can't win. So here I sit checking to see who has what prop, with the engine combo I have(11.1x13 on twin Honda 50's just incase your curious) and get stuck on a permatrim tangent...... Which brings me to my long winded point. With all the things I think I need to upgrade and add, what has been your favorite and what can I not live without?

Haven't touched the boat (except the Scuff buster, since we put her up after returning from Powell in Oct. We had emptied the fuel tanks, run the fuel out of the lines, and drained the gas in the carbs. Since there are occasionally issues with the carbs after storage, I though I would try putting carb cleaner overnight in each carb, and then drain it the next day.

The AGM group 31 batteries were just disconnected, and were fully charged. The voltage was 12.5. We put in 6 gallons of non ethanol 89 octane, laced with some PRI G and Stabil. I turned the key (after the hose was hooked up) and the engine immediately fired and idled very smoothly. We left the charger running to be sure the batteries are topped off for the St. John's trip. Packing is starting (after our 3 hour Tornado warning--where the cell went right up our bay--and unfortunately caused some serious damage on the other side of Pensacola.)

Of course the Admiral is already loading on the food. She said something like "should I plan for a month?"
 
Made second trip through Deception Pass yesterday. Put another hour on the kicker. Another 5 hours of break in to go!

The trim tabs are finally starting to come naturally. Between them and the Permatrim, it is possible to really get the little boat humming!

Left cell phone at home to force myself to take photographs with the Nikon. I swear, the phone is better! Well, for most things...
 
March 1 is Spring in BC so untarped the boat, did an initial clean, emptied the water tank of rv fluid, checked trailer lights and took it for a tow. Trailer all good, boat came thru winter just fine, ready to go. Likely first overnight in first week of March

Pulled the Delta anchor off last week and replaced it with a Rocna Vulcan9, but that isn't fitting the launcher (roller) very well due to the high curve in the shank. Pulled it off today, and it is going back. Pulled the chain and separated it from the rode, for replacement there too. Updated some flares for my Voluntary Vessel Safety Inspection, and

Put a cruise control on my Bike.... Yah hoooo :D :D

Life is good and summers is coming, right after Spring.

I finished up the remote switch for the Wallas heater in the berth and also finished the power feed and mounting for the freezer and related storage changes. This included a new base for the stove and shuffling of some items to new spots on the boat. And a new mount for Cindie's phone on the port side.

Next up new cooler mounting...

I took my anchor chain for a ride in the country. Had to look for the right gravel road to drag it on but finally found a good stretch of non-muddy, good gravel. Then took it home, cleaned and working on some spray galvanizing for some sections. Pulled the cabin lights down to replace with LED BiColor white/red ones.

I'm curious: What was the purpose of dragging it down a gravel road? Seems like it would be hard on the galvanizing..? Or were you trying to remove it?
 
Rain is right. I was trying to clean off some of the salty plaque and some of the rusty stuff. Worked well too. Drug it about a mile at pretty slow (15 mph or so), then took it home to clean, dry and paint some of the places that needed some galvanizing refurbished.

I put brakes on my trailer on Saturday. It was way easier than I thought. Put the boat out on the mooring buoy, took the axle off of the trailer, put the new one on, bled the brakes, then put the boat back on the trailer. Went for a spin and even slammed on the brakes a few times, including on the steep gravel road to our cabin. Amazing. I still have to get the back-up solenoid wired. Some pictures are in my file. Forgot to take pictures of the actuator and the brake lines.

Made a few flooring/support changes to install a couple of smaller coolers for our new self ice producing ability. Also added a couple of cup holders to the cabin and am eagerly awaiting our new cabin seats.

Now if only I could find the wheels for the larger coolers.

Finished the install, changing the OE cabin and V-birth lights over to LED lights with both white and red light capability. Thought to be an easy change but as all boat projects go, there is always an addendum. In my case, the v-birth light had a second set of wires, supplying power to the Stbd Nav light. The Dr LED lights that I was putting in, have no space between the base of the fixture, and the surface they are mounted onto. Turned out, I had to make a 1/4" spacer to put between the light base and the birth lid.

The Red glow will look just like Christmas when it is dark.

Yesterday, (first day of the WM Spring sale) I purchased an ACR ResQLink+ and today it is registered, with WM, ACR and NOAA. Now, I hope I never need it. It was just time to do it with the up coming cruising plans.

I love the size, (TINY), and the Advanced 406.com plan gives availability of 5 numbers for contacts, if you need that many.

It has some nice mail in rebate (coupon is printed out from on line).

We took Buck List over to a marina last week for bottom paint and general checkup. The first thing he noted was that bottom needed cleaning, not paint yet. He also recommended a longer handled stiff brush to do interim cleaning. He also thought our warm water this last summer hastened grass growth, but no where near as fast as Florida where he is from. And after asking me about 'the hitting some wood and cavitation event', he said he would look it over, but did not think the hit was significant.

Meantime, of course, I have no boat - and lots of good weather.
