We put a SH 2100 in Thisaway. It works great with the Garmin 541. As we went by St Francis YC in San Francisco, every committee boat had AIS on it!. It makes a lot of difference plaing your crossing of high speed ships, as well as lots of information.
The 2100 also has the hailer etc, just requires two ports and a litter harder to hook up--but all informatin is in the SH web site or THT/Garmin...
A bargin at that price. A great radio.
Incidently we run the 541 at full screen chart, with waypoints & AIS etc for the route. We halso have a 441s which we run split screen: lower is sounder and upper is detail chart, with no routes, waypoints or AIS. We have done a similar combination on several boats and like it better than one large screen. Radar is separate (no Radar on Thisaway).
