Thanksgiving weekend trip to Sucia Island

Launched at Twin Bridges on Saturday morning. Great sunny day with calm waters all the way to Fossil Bay on Sucia. Two boats on the dock, one of them was a 30' foot Osprey. Bud the owner of the Osprey works with the folks that just bought the old Anna Leigh, not sure of the name the folks from Montana gave it.
Took a cool sunny afternoon hike out to Johnston Point. Had a nice dinner on the boat. We brought firewood from home and had a wonderful campfire that evening. The weather was clear but cold, down around freezing. Wind picked up during the night but got a nice sound sleep.
Left around noon Sunday, sun most of the way in 2 foot chop till we got on the east side of Guemes Island.
Great weekend, Robbin said it was a little cold, see photos.
Sucia Trip

your pictures say it all
I envy you and dream about what we will be able to do once we get some heat in the boat. These days when the sun is out are perfect days to be on the water. Once we get the Dickenson set up we will definatly do some winter cruising.

lucky buggers, I'll bet you had no problems finding dock space. More heat, we need more heat...or a bigger boat that is equiped with more heat

Fred and Robbin, Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. Love the islands in the winter. Spirit is the name of the boat from Montana, or was the name. The new name is the Even Keel. I think the owners live close to you in Lynnwood. It will be good to see the boat again and meet the new owners. (Robbin, I bet you wore those super warm socks from the little store off of hiway 20  ) Robbi

Fred and Robbin,
I saw Bud this morning and he said he saw you at Sucia. Bud is the person who got us interested in boating. We are very anxious to get out on the water. We do not have our boat home yet. Les is doing a few modifications and we should have it in the next week or so. Les and Kathy are sure great to work with. Looking forward to seeing you all on the water.
Gregg and Laurie

Hi Greg and Laurie. Les and Kathy run a great buisness. You should be very happy with your boat when they are finished. Sucia was fun. Sounds like Bud goes out their alot in the winter. I am sure glad we brought the fire wood, made for a nice evening in the cold.
I am sure we will see you on the water soon.

You lucky buggers! I wanted to go out in the freezing cold on the boat but Patty dragged me down to Tucson that weekend  where it was in the low 80s...but somehow we suffered through it. Actually, Thanksgiving has become the annual get-together with all three kids "anywhere but here," wouldn't trade that for any boat outing...still I envy you, we LOVE winter boating.
