I think part of it has to do with the factory participation. These TugNuts are traveling to Desolation Sound as a group. Ranger Tug factory folks are there to support the lifestyle. Plenty of returnees who have done the trip before, and new folks who enjoy the security of traveling there with a group. I think Jeff, Andrew, and Kenny (factory folks) are along, plus Captain Mac (and Linda), who does the owner orientation for new owners. Great peace of mind for those traveling with the group.
Besides the fact that it is fun for all those participating, it is very smart marketing for the Ranger Tug factory... "Buy a tug, enjoy the lifestyle!"
No doubt, trips like this are a very effective sales tool and great for building comradery amongst Ranger owners. Fun. Win/Win.
We went to Desolation Sound and Princess Louisa Inlet the first year we owned Wild Blue - what great boating destinations! Before that trip, we traveled in the Gulf Islands with a group of C-Dory owners for a week before we went north on our own.
I would imagine those Ranger Tug (and Cutwater) folks are having a ball on this trip.
Best wishes,
Jim
