Trouble buying my dreams

what makes a brat, a real brat, is his passion for boating and good fellowship, not owning a c-dory! having a c-dory is awesome fun, however remember to never fall in love with anything that can't love you back. there will always be another boat, no shame in buying used!
stick around and have fun pitching in with post and ideas.

JGrider, I bought the C Dory 22 that was in Florida. I had been looking for a boat since November. I had basically given up on finding a C Dory in my price range and almost settled for another boat. I checked this site and several others everyday. When I saw this boat listed, I almost jumped out of my chair seeing my dream boat in my price range and only 150 miles away.
Good luck with your search, save your money, be ready to move and I hope you can get your dream boat too.

Paul, welcome to the site! Get an album (ask Tyboo), post some pictures and join in the fun!

Thank you again Charlie. I have been lurking on this site for years and really enjoy the adventures, pictures and information the members share here. I plan to get an album together after a while. Southwest Florida doesn't have the beautiful vistas that some of the northern areas have, but it is truly a fabulous year round boating paradise.

JGrider, Only you know what your financial situation is, but there are plenty of good C Dories which are older. Everyonce in a while a real bargin comes along--even down in the $13,000 range for a 22. You have to have the $$ ready to go and move quickly. I personally would think long and hard about taking retirement money and paying an interest penality for any boat. There are other "creative" ways of financing. My impression is that the C Dory prices have been falling a bit recently--especially as CenterIsland points out that this is high season for buying a boat. You have to be able to buy the boat any place in the continental US to get the "deals"--I pruchased my 22 over 1000 miles from "home" and the 25 over 1200 miles from home--both based on photos on the internet--then drove up to pick up the boat. The boats are rugged--and although there are occasional problems they are very rare--and for the most part easy to fix.

I am a bit confused about the Wefing's--comment, since Marc Grove is "Wefings". Although he has had a couple of sales people in the past--you really want to deal with Marc. If anyone will find a way to put you in a boat he is the person in this part of the world.

Good hunting--and you will find a boat--be patient and keep looking.

To echo Dr. Bob, you should drive over to Apalach and spend a little time with Marc. He needs to know specifically what you're looking for and how much you can spend. He's a master at putting those two things together and creating your dream deal. Besides, if you've never been to the "Forgotten Coast" you're in for a real treat.

Thanks you guys . I had a pm session with Jgrider and we figured out what occured . All is ok and I am on the case if I can help .
Marc
