03/26 - 03/28 - Jarrell's Cove

Hey is anybody heading out Thursday, I think I will launch at Swantown Thursday and do some exploring. I have to come back to Olympia Friday afternoon to pick up Robbin and Cynthia. Jon any chance you can head out Thursday afternoon, I hate drinking alone.

Like the song from The Unsinkable Molly Brown says, "Belly up, belly up to the bar boys, better loosen your belt, only drink when you're all alone or with somebody else!"

Hey Fred, I might be able to "Belly Up" on Thursday. I'll put in for a comp day and see what happens. Shouldn't be a problem.

Lyle, thanks again for the offer but I think this time, Swantown is going to work out better.

OK, checked with the one of us who still has some memory left, and the Allyn Tavern is now called Leonard's - and Patty claims breakfast was great there...I am going to try like crazy to get to JArrell Cove by Friday before dark, if it is not horrible weather or pitch black, a moonlight cruise up to Leonard's for dinner might be in order Friday night, and/or breakfast Saturday morning...Saturday night is of course reserved for the World Famous C-Brat Potluck...We are bringing the World Famous Eleanor's Navy Bean Soup, a double or triple batch...so snoring is not the ONLY thing you will be hearing through the night (remember Blazing Saddles?)

Well, the Miss Mirth will be there. At least some of us (Dotty, Marty, Joe, Anne, and Lizzie.)

We would love it if we could get some beginner's coaching on fishing in the sound. We got the downriggers on, but haven't had a chance to use them yet.

Looking forward to seeing the gang. Joe P.

Hey everyone. I had the opportunity yesterday (Saturday) to make a road trip in the new/ slightly used tow-rig ( 1999 F350 superduty POWERSTROKE) so I decided to check out the cove. Spoke to the manager at the Marina and she confirmed that there are only a couple of slips available for moorage there.
But the state park on the other hand, only had a couple of boats tied-up. Point being, This time of year I'd bet we'll have the place mostly to ourselves.

Even if Marty and I dont take the boat we will come visit everyone and druell over the new Da-Nag.

For those of you that have never visited Jarrell's Cove State Park I'm sure your going to be impressed, it's very well maintained.

Look forward to seeing everyone soon.

J. Cove, It's just a few short weeks away :) I'll brink my little BBQr and some salmon & sturgeon if folks wish to consume some sea food....I myself am on the Atkins diet (that be Chet Atkins....nothing but biscuits and gravy washed down with Jack D.)

OK, well, and as mentioned above, we will bring some World Famous Navy Bean Soup...

Hey Everyone!

Joni & I are new C- dory owners for just shy of a year now (had an Arima first..), and are looking forward to meeting everyone..! What is involved in a boat christening you've been talking about?

See you the End of March

Joni & David

We will all gather around your craft and Rev. Dave will place a sprig of greenery on the bow and incant the words of the ancient ritual invoking the gods of the sea to look after her and her owners. We will all pour some beverages on the boat to appease the gods. No breaking bottles in our circles - champagne bottles would wreak havoc on fiberglass! Then we all go drink a lot! That's pretty much how the ones I have attended (including Daydream's christening) have gone.

Jeff and I would be honored to join the Jearrell's Cove gathering. Since we are just fledglings getting ready to jump out of the nest, we were wondering if we could hook up with someone so we might have a clue as to where we are going, putting the boat in, after the boat is in, where we go next, etc. I know that sounds pathetic, but we are a little nervous about getting lost in the fog......! We were lucky enough to find our new/used F250 Diesel Power Stroke and are quite excited about that :D Now we just need to get with the program and gain the confidence and experience of all you professional mariners :beer We are open to suggestions, input, ridicule, abuse.....whatever you may throw our way. Hope to see you soon :love

Sugar Lips :lips and Auturo :beer

Thanks Pat for the description on the Boat christening, I especially like the part about consuming beverages! and heck I can always use some good luck from the sea. :) Do we need to sign up for this?

Jeff & Diane, I don't think anybody will be issuing anybody any flak about being cautious and concerned. We'll likely launch late Friday or Saturday morning from Zittels on Johnson Point (just north of Oly) and you'd be welcome to follow us (on the rocks)

Jeff and Diane,
Jon, Brock and myself will be launching on Thursday morning. Jon and I will be launching at Swantown Marina in Olympia, Brock will be launching from Des Moines. We will be cruising around on Thursday staying at Penrose Point State Park Thursday night. Just let us know were you will be launching and I am sure we can hook up with you guys someplace and help out if you need it.

Fred

Pssst....J&D - you don't want to mention the "EFF - OH - GEE" word around Catman. He's still a little sensitive.

Hey Bill, with all those gagets on your helm do you even need windows. I think I will be following you. I am pretty sure no one will be following Brock.

Great to hear you are coming Jeff & Diane!! We will be over Saturday morning to J.C. I won't get off the road til then..

Joni and David...Excellent reply from Pat on the Christenings. We sometimes do it on Saturday eve, or on Sunday morning before everyone heads for home. I refer to the Sunday thing as C-Dory Church..
Jim, the Asst.Rev.
