Mark,
Glad you can join us. Except for signing up on the "Event signups" page at the top of the brat site, you do not have to do anything but get there. My wife and I will have mooring reservations for the group and there will be people there to help you moor. The usual routine for a gathering is: Arrive on Friday, usually noonish or later, dinner out Friday night at a local restaurant with many of the brats (We'll make those reservations too), No real group activities Saturday AM, Friday Harbor has enough so people find lots to do; many just hang around the docks, visit, gossip, etc. Lingcod and Shrimp seasons are open so some go fishing, others tour. Late Saturday afternoon there will be a potluck on the breakwater, everybody brings something but it is a true Pot-Luck so bring whatever you want in whatever quantity you wish, Sunday AM breakfast at one or more local restaurants, people start heading out after breakfast and most are gone by noonish. It would be helpful to get your names and boat name to help with the nametags.
As far as launch points and traveling with somebody, usually there will be some discussion of group travel as we get a little closer to the event, just keep an eye on the site. That will be dictated a little by launch site. I know some willl be coming from Cornet Bay on Whidbey, from Anacortes, and from Bellingham, others will be coming from points south so you should have no trouble finding someone to convoy with.
Oh, and since you will have a new boat, There is a tradition of boat christenings at gatherings. Either the Rev. Dave (Dave S. on Seashift) or the Rev. Jim on Laurie Ann. will be there, usually 3 or 4 boats get the treatment, lots of fun and no harm to boats, animals, or people in the production, Hint: bring some greenery and some adult beverage libations with which to christen your boat with her true name.
See you there.
