I have 5 gallons of blue paint for sale cheap. Rollers and brushes included. Will deliver. Wish I could come (I have a blue boat! )
Charlie

Don't anyone even think, much less try to paint "Sea Shift" blue. Mine is red because that is the color of real fire engines and I certainly don't want "Sea Shift" to look like a police car. :disgust

Ruthi & I spent the night in Langley March 30, 2009 in Raven Dancer on our way to Oak Harbor Marina via Port Townsend.
When we arrived the power was out and no one seemed to know why or care, about an hour later some one checked the main box and found the switch in the off position.
After that we hiked to the Restrooms to check them out, approx a block away, what a mess ! The shower was broken in the mens room, and Ruthi said she wouldn't use the shower in the ladies room if it was working.
On the good side the town was very nice with lots of cute shops, and one very good pizza place right at the top of the hill.
That night the marina was very quite and peaceful.
There is a very nice beach right at the start of the pier. If allowed it would be a great place for a bon-fire.

Ruthi and I have been small boat cruisers for the last 30 years and have been in Marina's from San Diego to Anchorage AK. We have a rate scale in our log books with 1 being the worst and 10 the best. Langley scored a 3 in our books

Dave, thanks for the update. Included in these cruises is the cruise. A smart guy once said that's half the fun. Langley's strategically right for many of us, sits on a cool island, and if the wind cooperates even a little offers a really nice, fairly protected jaunt to the tiny town.

Now, if we can just fix those showers and clean up a little around here...

Langley Marina Updates -

Since taking over the marina in January, the port has been busy first adressing several safety & maintenance issues. The showers have been repaired and restrooms clean & operating, we have rewired some of the dock stations (all 30 amp service in working order), repaired the light poles on main pier, installed new fire main to the docks, added signage and general clean-up. Upgrades are continuing as we are obtaining engineering and permits for the new marina build out, intial drawings were recently approved and application process in the works.

We have recieved funding for phase one of the marina addition, and we are putting in a waterfront park with tables, water and BBQ's on the southside of the marina beach.

We have begun a reservation policy both for groups and individuals. I have penciled in June 12 thru 14th for the C-Dory group. I would like to get an idea of how boats will participate and I will reserve a block of slips.

For reservations and questions please contact me at:

Suggestions, information/feedback appreciated.

I replied to Harbormaster to reserve one slip for a CD16 (oh yes, Robbi - we WILL be on Crabby Lou! Right next to you!) for the Saturday night. Daydream is safely tucked in to Hilton Harbor, and we will be coming out of Everett on the little guy! This is going to be a blast! Now, Dave, you need to fire up another Snohomish River cruise for us! Oh how I LOVE that little boat!

Pat, I spent all day today out in the 16, cruising the south sound. Nice!
If Fred and Robbin don't have the boat reserved, and if jury duty is over, I will be there. I will call for reservations tomorrow.

As far as I know it is still happening. TYBOO Mike how about a sign up sheet??

I am going to try and make this one seeing as how I missed the FH one.

I seriously doubt I'll be able to attend. I'm having surgery on my foot on either June 2nd or 3rd and the doc told me "no weight bearing for 8 weeks". :x :( It's crutches for me; which makes launching, getting into and out of the boat difficult.

Or...let Gary do it, you be the supervisor!

Got back from Friday Harbor/Princess Louisa Inlet on Sunday and am a little confused (I know, I know :? :? ). is there a Langley gathering or not? No signup sheet that I can find. Do we make reservations directly with Langley? Is anybody acting as "host"? Who is going?, etc. etc. Right now I am planning to go but would like some more information.

Barry - the dates are June 12 - 14. Catman is the guy. You make your own reservations with the Harbormaster, Rick Brewer at harbormaster@portofsouthwhidbey.com. I don't know why there is no signup. I will PM Tyboo.

Well, bummer. I just realized that this is the weekend of the Sound to Narrows run in Tacoma. Not that I would want to run 8 miles on a Saturday morning in June, but Cordell has run this race for 35 years. He is one of about 10 guys that have completed all 35 races, and and I think the last one standing will get a bottle of brandy or a tube of Ben Gay or something. Anyway, I will be joining him (I am free to take short cuts) and giving him support along the way. I think he owes me big time.

I will try to drive up Saturday afternoon and make it for the potluck. Maybe I will bring Cordell along.
