C-Dory Sightings

Luna C is always near, but it was not us this time. We'll make it out in the summer some time! For now, it is the San Juans on the weekends. Is Haileigh's Comet back on the water?

Saw a 22' cruiser, late model green trim, honda power, tied to a dock at Gwynn Isl. Va. south western Chesapeake Bay, May 14th. Was cursing by in Greeniron. In my 10 years of C-Dorying, this is only the 2nd C-Dory I have seen on the water. The first was back in the summer of 2000, just south of Solomons Md., a 22' angler with outriggers out, trolling. I was north bound to Annapolis.......Buck

I went down to the Warrenton basin to check on the boat (it was fine), and there were 5 C-Dorys all close together! One is a no-name 22 Crusier owned by an older local gentleman. Two of them are 22 Anglers owned by some local brothers (one is our very own Raven, and the other is the internet-bashful Heron). Another one is a 22 Cruiser named Lynn Marie that is owned by some guy from the yuppie communtity of Cannon Beach. The fifth one is the one I went down to check on.

Sounds as if the sturgeon fleet is in. Aint going to make it down this weekend, perhaps a holliday trip ( unless the kid ends up going to state in track, then it's off to Cheney)

he's running and jumping, if he has a good night tonight, he may qualify for state in the triple jump and 400m. He's doing good for a defensive lineman but as a trackster, he just hoping for a road trip to Spokane and a chance to get out of school. The peckerwood has to go to work when schools get out...rough duty...he's going to be rowing the baggage raft and serving beverages on the river

I was at Neah Bay from 5/17-5/22 fishing for halibut and cod. While there I first spotted a 22 foot C-Dory at the dock with the name of Green Frog (I don't know if this boat is a member of this site). Later in the week I saw the Viking Lady off of Tatoosh Island.

The week at Neah Bay was great, managed to get out to 72 square (40+ miles out), Blue Dot and Swiftsure bank. Fishing was excellent, I'll post a few pictures when I get the chance.

The past two weekends have been spent shrimpin' in Hood Canal - saw three C-Dories on the water there. First weekend, saw Island Hopper and U4EA, last weekend saw Lowe Down. One also was being towed by as we were getting tied up at Twanoh Tides, driver honked and we waved, don't know if it was one of the boats we saw on the water later or not.

Hi Dusty, The CD, Amigo, you saw at Twin Bridges in April was ours. Rick was just dropping it off before he started his adventure cruise to Juneau from Ancortes on a new 37' Nordic Tug.

Wade, we saw your boat just coming out at Twin Bridges when we were having the Amigo launched last Weds. May 19. It was kind of a spur of the moment trip just to test the boat out. Maybe we can get together next time we know ahead of time when we'll be in town.

Hi Pat & Rick, Sorry we missed you the other day--please do contact us next time your heading this way--we would love to get together with you guys.
We have our boat at home right now as we are getting ready for our Lake Roosevelt trip--should have it back at Twin Bridges within 2 weeks.

Somebody was definitely getting an early start on their Memorial Day weekend. Spotted a 22" C-Dory heading north at 5:10 AM on I-5 near the Stanwood-Bryant exit (#212). We were southbound and couldn't see the name or the exact color.

My son lives over in Ritzville WA right on I-90. Ritzville is a small town located in the middle of the WA desert about 60 miles West of Spokane.A couple of weeks ago he visited with a guy who was headed Eastbound and had stopped for gas.He had a brand new grey 19 ft. twas only 1.5 days old.
then today he saw a green trim 25 ft sitting on the back of a lowboy truck&trailer headed East on I -90.

Saw a cabernet colored 22' cruiser with twin Honda 40's in Wasp Channel on the west side of Shaw Island yesterday. They waved but seemed on a mission.

Hi All,
Well Judy and I put on over 9000 miles on our trip to Florida and NEVER even saw a C-Dory anywhere :sad . We were in over 20 states where I saw a zillion boats, even one Home security police boat with 4 Merc 225s hanging on the transom. They told me it would do over 70 miles per hour and they had another one in the shop with 5 engines hanging off the rear. WOW wonder what it will do? Glad Red Fox did not see it or he would be thinking  "How can I do that to a
C-Dory?" :smileo Glad to be home and now to harvest my hay crop and get my C-Dorys ready to go fish.

What will it do? As a rough guess-

Propably about

1. 85 mph,

2. at least a $100,000 dent in the Home Security Department Budget for the engines, and

3. burn about 100 gallons per hour at full throttle!

Sorry for the W-A Answer! Joe.
