We're waiting....
....... and waiting....................

Well, I like him! I like him a lot!! I bet Austin is excited, and with good reason.

You're a good dad, old dad!

WOW!! Santa sure found your house, Austin. That is one cute puppy and you sure look like a proud papa! Congratulations. We look forward to meeting him at Birch Bay next spring.

Great looking little feller but be careful with him around the TyBoo. Mike's apt to head home with him and claim he thought it was Skipper. Can't wait to see a picture of the two of them together. That's Skipper and Oscar, not Mike and Oscar.
Congratulations, looking forward to meeting him. I'll have to start packing more biscuits.
Tim

Ain't we about due for a puppy update? Is Austin going to be able to leave him long enough to make it to school next week?

Yeah, Austin leaving him long enough to go to school will be a problem, all right! Update, well let's see...he is now 6 days older than when we brought him home, has settled right in to our family, has done his duty outside a couple of times, otherwise generally is coming close to the papers the rest of the time, is totally endearing himself to all of us, has figured out that his crate is where he is supposed to sleep (and he plays hard and then takes LONG naps, wish I could do the same!), loves his chew toy. It will be a lot of fun to see how he takes to the boat in May for the Lopez dealie!! We are here at Birch Bay right now (where it is 21 degrees cold), and he is having no problem settling in here either (with us around and his crate, I think he would be at home anywhere we go). No new recent pix, sorry. Enough of any update? :)

Patty here---just thought I'd add that Oscar has been terrific today and made lots of yellow snow!!!! Austin's been taking him out just about hourly and we have numerous yellow "spots" out there---I've cautioned Austin about eating yellow snow!!!!

Hey - them Lhassa's are natural snow dogs. They come from way up in the Himalayas at that Tibet place where the Dally Lammer feller used to hang out. Yellow spots are in their genes.

That little Skipper is sure doing his part to brighten people's lives! I do believe he had a subtle influence on Austin's choice for a buddy. He has also inspired two of the guys I work with to bring home Lhassa puppies. One guy got one that has similar coloring as Oscar, and another guy just yesterday brought home a twin to Skipper, plus a little runt of a mutt with a bum leg that the kennel lady was going to put down.

So, I guess when I am working on the boat over the winter getting it ready for sturgeon fishing, I had best make sure there is room for Oscar?

I will pass on the news that the one with the bum leg as rescued - Austin really thought that was awful that she was going to put him down. An by all means, make room for Oscar (he really does not take up a lot of space!)

Pat -

I talked to that guy at work today about his two new dogs - Dual Dog Dave I call him - and that little female with the bum leg is most likely the one Patty and Austin saw. He says that one of the leg joints won't stay in the socket. They can gently ease it back into place, and the mutt can walk, run, play and jump just fine. But as soon as she sits or squats, the joint dislocates again.

And yes - you can consider the little puppy to be rescued. He says his wife couldn't bear to have it put down, and that even after talking over the problems that taking care of it would bring, she still wanted to take it home. So, the doggy will be going to the vet for whatever it takes to get the leg fixed. He says, "It's only money". Dave and I have been friends ever since he came onto our crew, but he is a better friend today than he was last week.

Good for Dave and Mrs. Dave! I don't know that Patty and Austin even though of it as an option...it is quite a commitment!

All these dogs are sure cutiful :dog ! We are trying to post a picture of our dog :dog ,Sydney. She loves the snow! Dose Skipper :dog like the snow? Captain Elliott :dog ? Austin`s puppy :dog ?

H.P.
P.S. What is the name of Austin`s puppy?

Skipper and I liked the snow when it was nice and fluffy but after the freezing rain started, it wasn't much fun doing the splits. Then this morning every step into the 3 - 4 inch slush put our bellys on the icy stuff. NO FUN!!!! Oscar is Austin's Lhasa.

Poor little Skipper. He went to the Vet for his big operation yesterday. They could only find one of the things they were looking for, so they had to cut him open more and dig around. Never did find the other one. He has had a rough couple of days. I felt so bad for the little guy last night. He was just miserable. He's better today, but as you can see from the picture, he is still hurting.

Oooh, that is one SAD looking Skipper...I had to shield Oscar's eyes! We have a mobile spay / neuter clinic, the Posado Program trailer (a program that was set up after the senseless beating death of Posado, a petting zoo donkey in Bellevue), that stops in Snoqualmie on some regular schedule. Oscar's time is not THAT far off either. Geez, I hope they can find both of his thingees without digging...
