Rain. Becoming very windy. Highs near 50. South wind increasing to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph possible.

waters... a strong front will produce gale to storm force winds over the forecast area today...with hazardous seas and severe bar conditions. Its 980 mb surface low will move from the offshore waters northeast across Vancouver Island midday. The surface front will reach the coastal waters this morning and swing quickly across the forecast area by early afternoon. High pres will build over the area tonight and Tue. Offshore flow will develop Tue night as the high shifts east of the Cascades...and a warm front will lift north across the area Wed.
Gale Warning now in effect through this evening

Today
S wind 10 to 20 kt rising to 20 to 30 kt in the morning...then becoming SW 30 to 40 kt in the late morning. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft building to 5 to 7 ft. Rain in the morning...then showers in the afternoon.
