Peter, I was going to pull it, but I might be convinced. Maybe we can run into DuckDog on Hemingway?? Net been fixed

Actually the weather report forecasts some real nasty weather this weekend. Heavy rains and breezy. You might want to pull it after all.

the small craft advisory, rain, and 30knot winds don't bother me, but it does make me more concerned for others on my boat  I think I will watch this forecast and make my final decision this evening. I haven't been out since labor day though!!

Dwight's boat, Dwight's call.

There's alot of open water in that area, especially in a south or north wind.

Last Sunday for the Everett coho derby, it was similar conditions or possibly worse..... folks were trolling northeast of the muckilteo ferry terminal to avoid the wind waves and still landing fish.

Downrigger trolling in 5' short interval wind waves is almost as fun as a root canal. The c-dory can do it, but my lower back cannot if I can avoid it.

The Sno River is also producing some nice size silvers, and the water will be alot smoother saturday.

I just took my boat out of the everett marina to take to Les, for a carb cleaning before Sekiu next week. @#$% ethenol fuel :amgry

fished today near seattle. Wind was up to much for the run to edmonds this morning in Dwights 19. We did manage two nice coho just out of the marina. I was going to fish tomorrow but it looks like it will be hitting 25 to 30 tomorrow from the south, which is the worse. Dwight Pulled his boat today after we were done. He caught both fish and I had two take downs. Fish checker had 16 boats with 28 fish counting ours, so the fish are but the weather was getting worse by the hour. I might take the sled to the river tomorrow but I think the salt is out.

Bum,

When you fish everyday, the question becomes why beat myself up. We still caught local and got some new numbers. Titus, send me a PM if you want a close in Shilshole loc

if any of ya'll do decide to brave it post here or pm me. I think i'll decide late tonight or at 4am tomorrow. since wunderground has already dropped the wind wave forecast and wind forecast a slight bit, i'll knock on wood and cross some fingers for a few hours. on the plus side, my brother wants me to come chase pheasants with him this weekend over his dog, but I haven't had the boat out in 3 weeks, i'm going through withdrawals.

lol I'll ask
woke up this morning and saw the forecast was upped to 45knot winds, so I bagged it and hiked to lake eleanor at mt rainier instead....

anyone dare brave the wind?

looks like it was strong southerly too. my brother spent the day building a deck in gig harbor and said the wind nearly blew him off the deck a few times (i think it is on a cliffy area). he ended up being too tired for pheasant after all.

Oct.4 2013
today we launched from Everett at about 8:40 and ran South to Mukilteo. just past the Ferry we dropped down, one at 60 ft. and the other at 75ft.
we trolled South for approximately 20 minutes and had a good fish on. we landed it and as we were letting it out the other rod released and we had the second fish in the boat. then it was a long, slow, boat ride till just South of Shipwreck. then we hit and brought in a nice 10 LB. Coho.
we turned around and trolled North for about 30 minutes and then pulled up and ran North to the Ferry lane and started over trolling South. We trolled for about an hour trying various depths and finally got the fourth fish in the boat close to Shipwreck. We trolled all the way to Browns Bay and then Turned around and fished North again. about 100yards North of shipwreck we hit a nice fish that ran and took line. then it came back towards the boat faster than we could reel in and the line got slack and it was gone.(the joys of barbless hooks)
then a long slow boat ride till about 200 yards from the ferry lane and we hit both poles at the same time and once they were landed we were done. about 5 hours of fishing produced 6 nice Coho ranging fro 6 lbs. to 11 lbs.
A perfect day of fishing in short sleeved weather in Oct. and flat water.

Well the parts for my boat showed up early. Got them saturday at 2pm so I worked hard and got the boat up and running for a sunday morning fishing trip.

Word was that Saturday was fast and easy limits. Well sunday was not bad but fast was not a word I would use.

Gary, a friend of mine, and I headed out at 7 and worked the Mukliteo to shipwreck for two hours with out a hit. We ran over to the bar and trolled from the bait box to the green can. We had a double take down but one of the lines busted and I lost snap, board and lure. The other fish we landed.

I got a call from Troy with good reports of 8 fish off one spot in two days. He was nice enough to send me text the lat and long. In 20 minutes we hooked into a nice 10 llbs coho buck that put up a great fight. That was at 1pm which is late in the day for coho but it was nice to have a fish each.

I know that Joe Hung got six today. Most people worked hard for there limits.
