Yup I was looking at the bent ring at the shop and stopped by the slip on the way home tonight. I gotta believe I can use the old ring/molding.
Weather permitting I'll give it a try on the weekend

No problem. I would be willing to do business with all you guys again. A real nice bunch. I am just sorry I jumped the gun a little too soon. It was just the way DSG issued the second bill that confused me (not too hard to do sometimes). I knew I had the numbers crunched correctly and it didn't add up..... until I saw what they had done and why. All is GOOD and Charlie, I DO appreciate you trying to rally the group. I have never been disappointed with the advice and friendliness of this group. In this hustle bustle world, this site is a great place to make long distant friends who can share and care. (sound too mushy?) I just hope everyone is happy with the window.

Glad to hear that you were able to slove the problem of the bend. I haven't put my window in yet. This weekend. Did you use any kind of caulking when installing?

Good question re: caulking.

I didn't have any with me at the slip. When I got the old window off there was a bead but it was placed in a spot so deep inside the frame and was still intact - it had failed to create a seal (a quality control issue?) Rather than putting back the old window I put in the new one and added "Seal the new door window" to the winterization punch list. :tux
 
Just a question-

The latch/catch at the top of the window appears to be the same one used on the sliding windows on the sides of the C-Dorys.

Does the window simply open all the way when not latched shut, or does it slide down and lock in increments? Are there fixed settings, or is it infinitely adjustable? Is it held by friction only?

If it doesn't have any adjustments, can a set of stick-like props be made and used to give incremental opening steps?

Yes, it looks like the same type locking handle (for lack of a better term) that the other windows use. The window is either all the way open or closed...no increments. I, too, thought of the prop in order to have it open just a little if desired...simple to do.

The prop-stick would be the simplest solution that first comes to mind.

If one could drill a hole in the lower corner of the inner window and insert a machine screw from the outside with a nut on the inside, then add a nylon washer large enough to overlap the outer window frame., followed by a plastic handled, metal centered, knurled nut (like the ones on the bomar hatch, but smaller) the set up could be used to lock up the window at any height.

Could be done on just one side or both.

Could also drill matching holes in the inner and outer window frames and use a tight fitting clevis pin, but I like the first idea better!

Surprised Diamond Sea Glaze (DSG) hasn't devised such a system !?!

Much as we love our new window, would it have killed Diamond Sea Glaze to include enough screws to mount the thing? Between taking the old window off once before to measure the opening, and mounting the new one, I managed to shear off enough of the old screws whereby I was one short. (the story of my life......) So, as I was ordering from WM anyway, I thought what the heck and ordered a bag of 100 1/2" square head screws. As luck would have it, they are #6 screws with an S-1 head and not the larger S-2 head variety DSG uses. So the ones I have work, but, don't match. No big deal I suppose, but still......

Sorry for the lack of clarity. I am interested in purchasing one (1) but I was looking for someone to take the lead and figure out the pricing and put together the order.

Looks like we now have two (2) potential orders. Lets see how many are interested in a door window purchase at this time and who would be interested in taking leadership of the order.
