Pat-
I just bought a Sea Ray 265 Sedan Bridge for my lounging around on Shasta Lake.
It's got a flying bridge, is about 27'1" at the waterline, and is 31 ft overall with the bowsprint and swim platform. 9' beam.
6400lbs, twin V-6 4.3L 210 hp motors. Goes 35, and cruises 20-25mph.
With the flying bridge, you have a nice 8 x 6 ft deck above, and the entire lower boat is devoted to cabin and cockpit (no lower helm station). Very BIG inside, more like a 30 footer.
Fit and finish are superb, actually much better that my C-Dory or Fleetwood Limited motorhome. From the inside, you can't see any fibrerglass unless you remove a drawer, stand on your head, and use a flashlight.
Has headliner, upolstered and fabric covered walls, drapes, venetian blinds, window covers inside and out, maple wood trim, and carpet that even lines all the storage compartments under the dinette, v-berth, setee, etc. Even the door to the anchor locker at the foot of the v-berth is mirrored and with a lock.
The head/shower have almost never been used, and are like new.
All wires are color coded and listed in the owner's handbook. The pressure water intake, sewage discharge, and several other functions have keys that lock them on and off or their compartments.
The whole thing is built like a tank in terms of tightness. AND VERY PLUSH.
With a 22 degree deep-V hull, it rides great through the chop, but it's just fun to ride along at displacement speeds and enjoy the view from 11 feet above the water in the wind.
I'm working the boat over now, and in a couple of weeks I'll have it pulled and gone through at a local marine shop for all mechanical services.
Comes complete with transferrable covered slip at Bridge Bay, where we already have a slip shared between our C-Dory and our pontoon boat, depending on season. You usually have to WAIT for someone to DIE to get a large slip there!
Guess I went over to the "DARK SIDE" on this one, but I'm lovin' it!!!
Here's a
link to some photos of sisterships of mine, I'll add my own photos when I get her all detailed out!
